“I chose Sassaffair Events due to their reputation and availability to assist with event planning two major events for our Toowoomba Grand Opening.  Being based on the Sunshine Coast, it was vital that I had a partner who could be available on site in Toowoomba and had local connections to realise my event concepts and requirements. Where possible, Simon Home likes to support local business.

As is often the case, the initial brief for the two events, needed tweaking throughout and, not only did nothing phase Tanya, she embraced every change with gusto and made it happen. Having worked with many event management companies over the years, both in Australia and overseas, Tanya’s flexibility and general ‘can do’ attitude was absolutely refreshing.

Both the Pre-Launch Party (invited guests only) and the public Grand Opening Family Fun Day were highly successful.

The Pre-Launch Party included catering for both adults and children, as well as child-care and kids activities, including a Face Painter. The kids had an absolute ball, being occupied by bubbly and caring professionals and enjoyed their own menu of yummy finger-foods and soft drinks.

The adults received a selection of delectable canapés one would expect in gourmet restaurants.  The food was fresh, delicious and nutritious. The selection of wines and beers complemented the food wonderfully. The catering and serving staff were efficient, friendly and approachable, and represented our company to our fullest satisfaction.

We had little time for a clean-up after the event as the store had to be transformed from party-venue back to a clean and functioning store, ready for trading early the next morning.  All of the staff hired by Tanya were brilliant and ensured that within a short while, one wouldn’t have known we had had over 200 guests eating and drinking, or that a group of kids had been let loose in our Outdoor Living Display, engaging in Arts & Crafts or playing.   Everything was returned to ‘normal’.

The public Family Fun Day, included a Food Fair (8 food vendors), a fund-raising Sausage Sizzle, a large undercover seating area with hay bales/cushions and dressed palettes for visitors to dine informally but comfortably in the shade. The event included a Petting Zoo, Jumping Castle and Face Painter, a V8 American Supertruck Display, Live Broadcast via River 94.9 radio station, a roaming MC/Spruiker and, our highlight, the appearance of NRL legend Billy Moore.

While I assisted by organising some of the feature appearances, Tanya saw to the detail and organisation of the food and kid’s entertainment vendors, deliveries of every kind, e.g. helium gas for balloons, ice, hay bales, porta loos,etc. – and saw to it that all involved where updated, supplied with a schedule and location map, that staff (internal and external) were briefed and managed, that all insurances and permits were in place, etc.

Despite a few challenges incl. trailer breakdowns, short-term vendor requests/changes, etc., Tanya kept her cool and ensured that it all came together as if everything had gone to plan.    She was on location before day-break and stayed until the very end, including clean-up.   She worked tirelessly on both days, always smiling and always willing to step in where help was needed.

There is absolutely no way that I could have pulled off these events without Tanya’s huge efforts in the short time frame we had.  Her professionalism is apparent, her passion and dedication unmatched in my experience. Tanya is an absolute pleasure to deal with and I can highly recommend her to any business or person who wants their event to be the best; executed to perfection. She met my brief realised my vision for both events to the latter. I could not have asked for more”
